SUPERMAN RETURNS - has a ton of potential. If it can capture the same essence of what superman is, that Batman Begins captured, then all will be well and we will enjoy quite a great show I would say...if not, then it shall join an already growing population of craptastic movies that will line the 5 dollar bin at "The Walmart".

With cast members Kevin Spacey (Lex Luthor), Newcomer Brandon Routh (Superman/Clark Kent), Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane), James(Jean...don't do this)Marsden, and a few others that I don't feel are worth mentioning...it has the sleeper hit talent ability.

Some hate these actors, and some love them. I personally look forward to a full bucket of extra extra buttered popcorn....did i say extra butter? and of course a "Diet" soda drink....nah, no diet for this moviegoer. We will reserve judgement until I see this picture, but until then, I shall leave you with this wallpaper that I made all by myself.

YAY! Go Superman!

The O.C.

So I'm sitting at the kitchen table, and it's 2:30 a.m. and I just can't get to sleep. Why you ask? Well I just finished watching the O.C.'s season finale about an hour and a half ago. Why would a silly show affect(sp?) me so? Well, in the last 3 years that the show has aired, I have come to love the characters. Ryan with his coming from white trash to finally living a life that he deserves (rich and getting an education) Seth, finally having a friend/brother (Ryan) who can help him not get picked on and can also help scheme up some pretty crazy plans...Summer, who is really just funny and seems to help the show keep a lighter note, and Marissa... WHO JUST DIED....we think.....well not really, we know.

So at the end, Ryan is taking Marissa to the airport where she is going to go away to live with her Dad(I would have been just fine with this happening, not killing her) anyways, her new ex boyfriend who is more trashy than Kid Rock I kid you not, ends up drunkenly smashing his van into Ryan's NEW CAR, which his mother saved up enough money to buy him as a graduation present. Yeah, so the new car drops off a cliff, and Ryan pulls Marissa out of the car as it sets on fire and explodes the fuel that was dripping.....ugh.....then she dies in his arms. It was a powerful ending, but really sad.....why? For me, it was because of Ryan. He seems to be the heart and soul of this show, and really the only reason why I was sucked in to it. He has always been such a good person, and dealt with a raw hand from the beginning. Just sad. I honestly cried....geez, I know it's a show, but did she really have to die? Well I guess she did.

The show producer guy or whatever Josh Schwartz said that they probably have at least one season left in the show, which sucks, but at the same time is good, because I'd rather have this show be short and sweet in it's running, instead of running out of ideas and just making crap. Also even though this season kind of went blah for a bit, it's been a good show and up and beyond the other crap that's been churned out on the Television tube.

I love this show....they killed off one of the main characters, one that really even though she was blah sometimes, really added to the shows likableness. It will be very interesting as I've said in the past to see what they pull out of their magical writers piggy bank and see if they can pull this show out of the sad sad ending that this season just enjoyed.

Yeah my grammer and spelling have gone to crap, but they just killed Mischa Barton's character off, so I'm not too worried about either.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA -
The new Original Mini-Series

The Sci Fi channel has always been one that I have gawked at, laughing and pointing and making nerd noises at....considering that most of the crap that comes from that channel is really crappy. However, with the introduction of the new Battlestar series, I really have become a tad bit obsessed with it, and thus will no longer make fun of, nor hurt the feelings of the Sci Fi channel anymore.

Everything has changed....okay well not really EVERYTHING, but quite a bit has been changed to truly make this series into something very much apart and very much better then the show of old which bore it's same name.

Just to name a few changes, Starbuck is a chick...granted a tough chick that really makes you wonder sometimes if she couldn't kick most guys butts in combat contests and the like, but a chick nonetheless. The cast doesn't have 60's hairdo's...seriously....apparently they have graduated into the "Sex Sells" category and show a LOT more skin than the original. In fact this show gets a strong PG-13 rating. It has a few very racey scenes and definitely pushes bill with almost showing nudity, so this show is NOT for the faint of heart or anyone under the age of 18, IF THAT. :)

That being said, it has one of the most intriguging storylines of any SCI FI movie/show ever made. And the actors pull it all off without you ever questioning if indeed you are really watching a television show or not.

The special effects are great, and I never have to pick apart why out of the thousands of droids from star wars, how come 2 Jedi took out all of them in a matter of minutes. The characters are well fleshed out and you start to really care about them. If they get hurt, you get worried.

One more difference from the original and this new series, is that the cylons, look like humans. A huge twist which has really made it a fun series to watch so far.

I give credit to bringing this show to my attention to my sister in law. She did lovingly shove it in front of our faces, and now I am a believer again. Once this series ends, I'm sure I'll own each and every season with a boxed set of sorts, but until then, here's a FRACKEN TOASTER in your eye! :)

Mission Impossible II

I just had to post about this movie. I LOVE IT...yes...everything. The awesome, the silly, the cheesey, in fact, I love the cheese so much that it could be floating 3 feet deep whilst I watch this fantastic movie and I wouldn't care.

The story, although simple and easily written, is changed by the flair and charisma of none other than "Tom Cruise". Yes the psycho who was freaking out all over Hollywood, and yet the same person who has more than a handful of very WELL done and WELL acted movies under his belt. Then there is Thandie Newton, well she's not only beautiful, but as we know beauty means nothing on the big screen without a good arsenal of acting behind it, and yes I'm saying this....her acting in MI 2 was.....great :)

Then there is Dougray Scott...he can play a good villain that you really love to hate. His henchman Hugh Stamp, played by none other than Richard Roxburgh can only be described as well.....amazing :) He not only portrays himself well, but the scene in which Ethan Hunt switches with Hugh Stamp and he watches as Sean Ambrose kills the real Hugh Stamp(who has a mask to make him look like Ethan Hunt) Richard Roxburgh does a seamless job of playing his role from Hugh to Ethan.

The chemistry that Cruise and Newton show in this movie is reminiscent of a deep Romeo and Juliet type of love. Those purists that read this will probably be frothing at the mouth from my review...but alas I just love this movie. It has action, it has explosions, it has a great cast, well done direction, beautiful scenery, and all the cheese that I love. :)

SCRUBS - My Own TAILOR

My wife, labored intensively over a sewing machine, to bring me these "my first pair of homemade scrubs". Not only are they MUCH better and more durable(we picked out a good fabric) but they have handy dandy snazzilly fantastic pockets for all my needs at work. These pair of scrubs are the starting point of feeling skinnier, as I have lost around 50 pounds to date... and finally I have this uniform, tailored to my skinny needs :)

I haven't posted any blogs for a LONG time, mostly because my daughter was just born, and I've been incredibly busy with her, work, and basically life in general. Life is good, I've never been happier, and I'm rededicating myself to more frequent blogs, as the love hasn't died, just my time has become shorter...

Let the good times roll, and the blogs keep on coming.

TV - SMALLVILLE

The latest episode was heads above the previous episodes this season. Instead of bland "filler" stories showcasing Lana or Lois in scantily clad clothing with no story plot whatsoever, there was an actual story attached to this one.

The past 6 episodes had special guest star James Marsters, who we all know from previous roles in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" as well as roles on "Angel". He played a form of Artificial Intelligence from Krypton that was created by ZOD to cause Clark to destroy his new fortress of solitude and therefore bring the almighty ZOD back into our world, where he would create a new Krypton out of the ashes, destroying humanity. In the end Clark stopped his fortress from crumbling and said "NO". :) I was a little bummed to see James Marsters leave this cast, as it has been a bit bland of late, and needed a shot in the arm so to speak. Well, he gave us that shot, as he played his role of "Dr. Fine" quite well, and I was glad to see him again.

Clark and Lex have both fallen into the "I know we aren't best friends anymore" blah that they seem to be sucked into. Lana seems to dissapear so conveniently from the show every time that Lois needs to be given the spotlight, as I believe that either they are starting to phase out Lana and will be ready by the end of this season to let Lois really start to come into her role. If you want my "Prediction" as I have no facts or rumors to back this up...I believe that Lex will kill Lana at either the end of this season, or the end of the next one, creating a whole new storyarc with more new faces to breath fresh life into Smallville. Kristin Kreuk was a huge hit when this show started, and although I think she plays her role well, for what dialogue and situations give her, I think she's starting to get very bored with this role, as are most of the cast.

One of the shining stars who really suprised me this season was Chloe Sullivan, played by Allison Mack. She now knows of Clarks secret, and Clark finally opened up to her about being from Krypton, as well as all his super powers. Not only does this give her character more room to grow and share the spotlight with Clark, but it also allows her to have a more "intimate" for lack of a better word "role" with Clark. She is the solution for Clark's troubles more often than not, which has been very nice to see. I'm glad she wasn't a character that they phased out, as she lends one of the only "creditable" roles this season as Smallville starts actually turning into Superman.

A highlight of this episode, was the teaser trailer for the new Superman Returns movie that is coming to theatres somtime in 2006. From the trailer (and who knows they might just have a great editing team) I really think they might have this "Comic to movie" thing down to an art. That is...after the amazing "Batman Begins" graced the silver screen. All in all I'm excited to see what happens, and that's all I can ask of entertainment.

Smallville for the most part is enjoyable. Even the episodes that are very "URGH" can still be entertaining because I've come to love these characters over the seasons. They don't need to Reinvent the wheel, as much as they need to Reinvent the roles. This season Clark and Lex are supposed to be mortal enemies. Well, they've been ticked off at one another, but in no ways are they Mortal enemies.(Que dark and dismal music) I want to see Lex Luther do something attrocious, something that fills the nose with a foul stench and would give Clark a reason to actually become the Superman that we all know he should be.

Yes I'll keep watching faithfully, as this was the first Television show to create the need for me to be stuck same bat time same bat channel to the boob tube for 1 hour at a time. Yes, I have hope for the series to get "better". I guess We'll just have to wait and see.

- ART -

Russell Crowe - by my wife :)

To say that my wife is talented is an understatement. What most don't realize however is that she does NOT understand this fact. She can draw, cross stitch, sow, paint, cook, write, and much much more. The list of her talents goes on and on.

Soon hopefully I will be able to show you a completed cross stitch that she is currently trying to finish...it will be fun to unveil.

In this drawing the one thing that really pops out in my mind are his eyes. Russell Crowe has eyes that are shared only by a select few Benjamin Mckenzie. This picture was drawn from the soundtrack cover to the emotional movie Gladiator. Many since have tried to capture the magic that made that movie so heartfelt and bittersweet, but none have succeeded.

I finally decided to take the time to use my HP all in one scanner and VIOLA! It is so easy and incredibly fun to use, scan, save, and do basically whatever I need to do. If I would have realized this, I would have done this months ago when I bought it. If there's one thing HP got right, it was the ease of use on their products.

I'm glad I could share this drawing with everyone who frequents this blog. It is a drawing that demonstrates one of the many special abilities that helps me realize everyday why I love my wife so very much.

To my wife, I raise my cup in homage to your ever expanding talents that you love to hide from the world. May we all be as modest as you are, while carrying a smile that warms the heart, always welcoming back those that have fallen by the wayside on this journey we call life. Me :)
